The next video in the rangatahi series to be launched with Te Puni Kōkiri is #TechTikanga

The video has a strong message about taking care when we message each other, make posts and image share.

#TechTikanga will help us make good decisions when you are posting something online on text, private message, on social networks or apps like Snapchat, Instagram or Skype.

No matter how much you may trust the person you send it to at the time, it makes it hard to control what happens next.

Problems often arise around people you thought you could trust, sharing the image, joining in the negative comments even leading to online harassment and bullying.  These posts you choose to send are intentional!  It is all about owning “your image” once a post or an image has been shared you lose control of it.

Harmful digital communications can take many forms.  Learn more about The Harmful Digital Communications Act and how to deal with online harassment or bullying with Netsafe.

Please share this video whānau and remember the next time you post, tag or share of photo before you hit send...take a moment count to 10 and think "Would you send this to your nanny?"
